Dallas, Texas-based C5 wants you to change the way you currently manage your wireless business, right now. They want you to think innovation and commitment. Think reasoning and stability.

For many years now, C5 has been the fulfillment / distribution center for their own stores and supports over 700 additional wholesale customers encompassing more than 3,000 retail stores. They are a manufacturer / distributor turning heads in the wireless accessory industry because of their exemplary approach to action. Formerly MTU Wireless, C5 has the dedication and integrity that makes it easy to understand why they are a leading supplier of wireless accessories to dealers, distributors, retailers, agents, and airtime carriers throughout the United States.

Mark Schmidt, COO, says, “We never rest on our past accomplishments, thus we’re always striving to improve.” Schmidt admits, however, that getting the company to where is today wasn’t done overnight. “C5 started out as a very small operation with only five employees in 1996.  Every employee had to wear many hats, which meant that everyday at 1 P.M. we all were warehouse employees packing and shipping the orders we had worked so hard during the morning to obtain”, says Schmidt.  (Mark Schmidt joined C5 in October, 2006, as an industry veteran with over 20 years in engineering, wireless, and logistic services.)

Today, C5 has created a variety of product lines totaling over 1000 items designed to appeal to the widest possible spectrum of dealers while managing product for both their own stores and its wholesale distribution business. C5 currently provides private label packaging, customized retail packaging, point of purchase displays, sales training materials, website for e-commerce that supports business to business (B2B) and in the near future; a very robust website for business to consumer (B2C) platform.  Additionally, C5 offers both OEM and aftermarket accessories and has a complete fashion accessory portfolio with their own brand for a variety of wireless dealers.

From designing accessories that created the market, to sourcing out the latest product lines, C5 is quick to respond and has survived because of the excellent people working within the company. Schmidt feels that to take any business to the next level you have to remove yourself from the vendor/supplier mentality. “To be successful yourself, you must be dedicated to the success of all of your partners. From our in-house graphics team, product marketing, and product engineering team, we have built ourselves in the service of our customers,” Schmidt asserts. Because of this he also says that the “big boys” are seeing BIG potential with C5.  Their most recent strategic partnership with Samsung resulted in a direct distribution contract last December.

C5 is a company that handles partnerships by assuring the success of goals. Over the past year, C5’s hard work is already paying dividends. They’ve shown a 62% growth in revenue and increased gross profits 103% from last year. With C5’s positive programs and an endless spectrum of creative ideas that will help extend them well beyond what they currently do, future plans are to make fresh headways into the ever-changing wireless market.  “C5 will continue to invest in its people, processes and technologies so they can support their customers with superior customer service and high-quality products for a cost-effective price.”

Schmidt identifies C5’s business, “We are an extremely ethical company that believes in making the right decisions always, not just when it’s convenient.  Bottom line is people remember the way you make them feel and will continue to do business with you after the initial order if you earn their trust and respect by your actions and not your words.”
