Staying current in wireless is as challenging as staying current with fashion. Now those paths merge as wireless accessory designers dare to take design risks.

While the industry is still producing the corporate, masculine black and brown, it’s exciting watch the glittery, colorful “girly girl” styles coming out from accessory companies like MobileGlove.

MobileGlove’s recent success with the Chiqa Bag has resulted in another ‘best seller’ since the sale of their Classica line.

According to MobileGlove VP of Sales, Nathan Hassoun, the Chiqa Bag’s big selling point has been its convenience. “Women use it mainly to clip onto the outside of their purse,” he said.

“We found they like not having to fumble around looking for a ringing phone. It’s also convenient to strap it to a belt loop.” The Chiqa Bag also comes packaged with a coordinating shoulder strap, making the mobile phone still conveniently mobile and hands free for a feminine wardrobe.

MobileGlove is one of the rare accessory companies that knows its design sense has to be retail savvy. Company Vice President, Tony Wittner, is a graphic and product designer and created the MobileGloveTM brand from its parent company, AccessoritTM, four years ago.

AccessoritTM was founded by Jennifer Wittner and the company is extremely proud of their woman-owned status. She established in 1995, which is a stoneage ago in mobile telephony. Since then, their products are widely known for their quality, packaging design and product functionality.

“We introduced MobileGlove four years ago into the market when practically everyone else was selling cheap, generic, bland accessories for mobile phones, PDA’s, MP3 and MP4 players,” says Tony Wittner. He also says that there was a demand for better quality accessories and that’s what he set out to create and has been creating them since.

What continues to drive their success, Wittner believes, is “by far our great retail packaging that carries our MobileGlove brand product line and makes us stand out in the market. “We have had so many copy cat companies trying to put out MobileGlovelike designs, it’s very trying, but on the other hand, this forces us to continue to be a market leader by constantly introducing new, innovative, functional, and beautifully packaged products.” Accessorit sees its MobileGlove brand continuing as a national brand and as a leader in mobile phone, PDA, and MP3 and MP4 player accessories.

Wittner would like to see technology continue to grow in its current, upward trend because to stay up with it, they are forced to be trendsetters. “We stay flexible by keeping an open mind and we are always willing to take a step back and learn” he continues, “but the most important thing is Quality...Quality… Quality!” MobileGlove’s future looks toward a global reach as they are working on multi-national logistics.

“Our worldwide distribution is growing every day,” Wittner says. “Communication with many of these countries isn’t the best. The product (and its packaging) has to speak for itself.” He believes the future is anyone’s guess in technology, but rest assured, MobileGlove will have accessories for whatever the industry hardware manufacturers produce.
